Areas I Can Support You With
Karelly Sanabria Perez
Since completing my bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2019, I have worked as a psychosocial worker in a variety of clinical and community mental health settings, including Youth Protection Services (DPJ) and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
These experiences have given me the opportunity to support people from diverse backgrounds and to better understand the complexity of the human experience.
Throughout my career, I have developed the skills needed to build meaningful, trusting relationships with the people I support. More importantly, I have come to understand the importance of approaching each person with humility, recognizing that they are the expert on their own life. Rather than having all the answers, my role is to support them as they navigate their own path.
These experiences have also taught me to see beyond the challenges a person may be facing. No one is defined solely by their struggles, and well-being is influenced by many interconnected factors, including the environment in which they live. I have seen firsthand that, even when meaningful support is available, a person’s surroundings can either encourage growth or make progress more difficult.
Today, this perspective shapes the way I work with others. I strive to see each person as a whole, recognizing not only their mental health needs, but also the life experiences, strengths, and circumstances that have shaped who they are.
I believe everyone deserves to be heard with openness, respect, and genuine curiosity. I aim to create a space where people feel safe to share their experiences without fear of judgment.
